Honoring Our Veterans: Shook & Stone Rides in Support of the Xtreme Couture GI Foundation
This year, our team at Shook & Stone had the incredible honor of being a Gold Event Sponsor in the Xtreme Couture GI Foundation’s 17th Annual Poker Ride, a 100-mile motorcycle tour supporting veterans and their families. This day was about giving back, connecting with the community, and riding with purpose. From the rumble of engines at the starting line to the final stop where poker hands were revealed, the atmosphere was filled with energy, gratitude, and a shared commitment to a meaningful cause. Riders from all walks of life came together to show their support for our nation’s heroes, and we were proud to stand alongside them. The event not only raised vital funds but also served as a powerful reminder of the importance of community involvement in supporting those who have served. For our team, it was more than just a ride, it was a chance to make a difference, one mile at a time.
Riding for a Cause: The 17th Annual Motorcycle Tour
The Poker Ride took riders on a scenic 100-mile journey, with multiple stops along the way to collect cards. At the final stop, participants tested their skills in a unique challenge for the chance to improve their poker hand. The goal? To build the best (or worst!) five-card poker hand and compete for some fun prizes. There was fantastic entertainment, including a live performance by Jake Matthew at Stoney’s, a silent auction, and a raffle.
All proceeds from the Poker Ride went directly to the Xtreme Couture GI Foundation. This foundation helps with covering urgent needs like rent, utilities, transportation, and food. Providing transition assistance, helping veterans re-enter civilian life through job placement resources and mental health services. They also offer relief to families of deployed or wounded service members, reducing the financial and emotional burden.
Shook & Stone in Action
Our team was all in from start to finish. We welcomed attendees with swag bags, helped them enter our giveaway, and most importantly, took the time to connect on a personal level. Throughout the day, we had the privilege of speaking with numerous veterans and motorcycle enthusiasts who stopped by our booth. Many opened up about their military service and shared what participating in this event meant to them. We listened with gratitude, thanked them sincerely for their service, and walked away with a deeper appreciation for the impact events like this have on the veteran community.
For anyone in our community who wants to join us next time, there are plenty of ways to get involved—as a rider, volunteer, or sponsor. This is a cause that touches many lives, and we’d love to see even more people step up and ride along with us.
Results Speak Louder than Words
With your support, we helped raise over $47,000 to benefit veterans and their families. This remarkable achievement reflects the power of community and the strength of our shared purpose. We couldn’t have done it without our incredible community!
What’s Next for Shook & Stone and the GI Foundation?
We’re already looking ahead to continuing our support. The Xtreme Couture GI Foundation is planning another event this November—a special MMA fundraiser—and we’re exploring ways to be part of it. We’re also hoping to return for the ride next year and get even more involved.
At Shook & Stone, we believe in standing by those who stand for us. We’re proud to have been part of this incredible event and even prouder to support the mission of helping veterans live better, safer, and happier lives. We ride with purpose—and we’ll keep riding for those who need us.
