A Las Vegas resident in his mid 50s, spent much of his adult life working and supporting himself. Like many people facing serious health issues, he never expected that a combination of medical and functional limitations would eventually prevent him from maintaining full time employment. When his conditions worsened and working became impossible, he turned to the Social Security Disability system for help.
his case involved multiple complex medical issues that significantly affected his daily functioning. Medical records documented vision impairment caused by cataracts, hypertension, arthritis, and other ongoing medical conditions, all of which interfered with his ability to perform consistent work activities. His vision problems alone caused blurred vision, difficulty reading, and dangerous glare and halos while driving at night, making many everyday tasks challenging.Â
In addition, he had extensive medical treatment history and required care across multiple providers and facilities. Our legal team worked to obtain and organize years of medical documentation, hospital records, and specialist reports to ensure the Social Security Administration had a clear and complete picture of the severity of his conditions and their impact on his ability to work.Â
After initially navigating the lengthy disability process, his claim ultimately proceeded to a hearing before an Administrative Law Judge in Las Vegas in October 2024.Â
At the hearing level, careful legal preparation, evidence development, and presentation of the medical record were critical.
Following the hearing, the Administrative Law Judge issued a Fully Favorable Decision, finding that he met the Social Security Administration’s strict definition of disability.Â
As a result of this decision, he became entitled to ongoing monthly Social Security Disability benefits along with retroactive back pay for the time he had been unable to work.
He was 57 years old at the time of the decision.Â
Based on typical SSDI benefit levels for workers with similar earnings histories, his monthly disability payment is estimated at approximately $1,600 per month. If benefits continue until full retirement age at approximately 67, the projected lifetime value of this case exceeds $190,000 in total benefits.
Most importantly, this successful outcome provides he with stable monthly income and financial security during a difficult period in his life. By thoroughly developing the medical evidence, guiding him through the hearing process, and advocating on his behalf before the judge, our representation helped ensure he received the benefits he had earned through years of work.
