Downtown Las Vegas lit up with rhythm and style this past First Friday, as Shook & Stone hosted Breakin’ for Justice: Shook & Stone Throwdown. This free event brought together dancers of all ages, locals, and out-of-town visitors for an unforgettable evening filled with music and talented dancers from across the valley.
This competition featured two main categories: Youth (ages 5-15) and Adults (ages 16 and older). Dancers of all ages brought forth their best moves to the floor in front of judges and an electric audience. Winners of the beginner youth division took home a cash prize of $50, while the advanced youth champion earned $200. The adult category brought the heat with fierce battles and high-level skills, the winner bringing home the grand prize of $500. From the moment the battles kicked off, the crowd was treated to non-stop action. A local favorite, DJ Leo Cobra kept the beats flowing, fueling the energy for both competitors and the audience. The competition was judged by renowned dancers Quali-D and Ynot, whose experience and expertise brought some pressure to this showdown.
Beyond the dance battles, this event celebrated arts and culture in true First Friday fashion. Shook & Shook brought a live airbrush artist to create custom-designed shirts on the spot, giving participants and attendees a one-of-a-kind keepsake.
