cross-sell.

The firm you hand a case to keeps that matter. Not the next one. Your client returns when it closes. We don't market to them. We don't add them to any list. Want it in writing? Ask — we'll send the language.

Nevada Bar Rule 1.5(e)

## The rules work
in your favor.

Nevada is one of the most straightforward states in the country when it comes to referral fees. Under **Nevada Rule of Professional Conduct 1.5(e)**, you do not need to assume joint responsibility or perform ongoing work to receive a referral fee. You refer the case, we handle it completely, and you receive your fee when it resolves.

What the rule requires

Two things: written client consent to the arrangement (including each attorney's share), and a total fee that remains reasonable. We handle both — before any work begins.

What it doesn't require

No ongoing involvement. No Nevada bar admission. No court appearances. No joint liability. You step back entirely — your fee is protected by the written agreement.

Nevada vs. other states

Unlike California, Nevada imposes no proportionality requirement — your fee isn't tied to hours worked. This makes Nevada referrals cleaner and more predictable than most states.

Out-of-state attorneys

If your client was injured in Nevada and you're licensed elsewhere, you have no obligation to associate as co-counsel or seek pro hac vice admission to protect your fee. The referral agreement stands on its own.

Common questions

## What referring
attorneys
ask first.

Don't see yours? Call — the answer is usually faster on the phone.

No. Under Nevada Rule of Professional Conduct 1.5(e), a referring attorney does not need to assume joint responsibility or perform ongoing work to receive a referral fee. Nevada is one of the most straightforward states on this — you refer the case, we handle it completely, and you receive your fee when it resolves. The only requirements are written client consent and a reasonable total fee, both of which we take care of. Referral fees are negotiated individually and depend on the nature and complexity of the case. We're direct about this from day one — we'll tell you the percentage before you refer, confirm it in writing, and pay it promptly after resolution. As a general matter, referral fees in contingency cases are typically calculated as a percentage of the firm's earned fee, not a percentage of the client's recovery. We handle the full range of serious personal injury and wrongful death matters: auto and truck accidents, motorcycle accidents, workers' compensation, Social Security disability, wrongful death, premises liability, slip and fall, dog bites, and catastrophic injury cases. If you're unsure whether your client's case is a fit, call us — we'll give you a straight answer within the hour. That is the core of everything we do. We do not cross-sell your client into other practice areas, we do not market to them after the case closes, and we do not add them to any mailing list. When the matter is done, your client goes back to you — that's the deal, and we'll put it in writing. Our entire referral program depends on attorneys trusting us with their clients. We treat that seriously. We pay promptly after the case is fully resolved and disbursements are made, per Nevada Bar rules. We do not slow-roll fees. The timing depends on when the settlement or judgment funds are distributed, but we do not hold fees beyond what the rules require. We'll keep you informed throughout so you always know where things stand. Yes, and this is a significant part of our practice. If you're based outside Nevada and your client was injured here — in Las Vegas, Henderson, Reno, or anywhere in the state — we can take over completely. We're admitted in Nevada state and federal courts, we have established relationships with local insurers and judges, and you don't need to spin up a Nevada practice for one case. We handle the litigation; you keep the client relationship. You call or fill out the form and give us the basics: what happened, where, when, and the client's contact information. We'll evaluate the case, usually within 24 hours, and let you know if it's a fit. If it is, we send a written referral fee agreement for your review before anything else happens. Once both parties sign and the client provides written consent, we take over and keep you updated at every meaningful stage. You're never left wondering what's happening with your client's case. Yes. Some attorneys prefer a co-counsel arrangement where they remain involved at a defined level. We're open to that structure. How fees are split, what role you play, and how the client is informed will all be spelled out clearly in the co-counsel agreement. We handle the Nevada courtroom work; the division of responsibility beyond that is something we discuss together.
