See all recalls ↑ Common questions ## Frequently asked questions A recall remedy (repair, replacement, refund) is what the manufacturer owes the government and future buyers. It's separate from what they owe you for injuries you've already suffered. You can accept the recall and still pursue a personal injury claim. These are two different legal tracks. Nevada's statute of limitations for personal injury is generally 2 years from the date of injury — not the recall date. If you were injured before the recall was issued, the clock started when you were hurt. Don't assume you have extra time because the recall was recent. Yes — significantly. A CPSC or NHTSA recall is an official finding that a product was defective or hazardous. It doesn't guarantee you win, but it eliminates one of the hardest things to prove: that the defect existed. Manufacturers often have internal communications about the defect that predate the recall — those can be powerful evidence in discovery. In most cases, yes. Product registration and recall response are separate from your legal rights as someone who was injured.
