Shook & Stone believes in the power of community and how important it is to give back. The fight against hunger in our neighborhoods is a battle Shook & Stone is proud to support with the help of Three Square Food Bank. This food bank’s mission is to provide nutritious meals to individuals and families in need. As a law firm, they are dedicated to justice and advocacy. They understand that hunger is a pressing issue that is affecting countless lives in our community, and with that, they are committed to playing an important role in alleviating food uncertainty in our community.
What is a Three Square food bank?
Three Square Food Bank is Southern Nevada’s only food bank and the largest hunger relief organization in the region. It was founded in 2007, with a mission that is simple and yet powerful: to provide wholesome foods to the hungry but passionately pursuing a hunger-free Nevada. Three Square often collaborates with a network of community partners, including food pantries, charitable organizations, and meal programs, in order to distribute millions of nutritious meals every year. Their fantastic work ensures that vulnerable populations, such as children, seniors, veterans, and low-income families, have access to the food that they need to thrive.
Here in Southern Nevada, hunger remains a significant challenge, there are thousands of households struggling to put meals on the table. Economic hardship, job loss, and unexpected crises can leave individuals and families facing any certainties, and food should not be one of them. That is where Three Square plays a crucial role in the community by bridging this gap by sourcing and distributing foods efficiently to those in need. Three Square provides more than 41 million meals annually. This organization makes a life-changing impact in our community every year and ensures that no one has to go to bed hungry.
Shook & Stone support and volunteering efforts
Shook & Stone is not just about legal advocacy they are about standing up for those in need in every possible way. Their partnership with Three Square is a testament to their dedication to taking part in the community. Financial contributions are essential to supporting organizations like Three Square to keep their operations up and running. Still, Shook & Stone also believes that real change happens when people roll up their sleeves and get involved directly. That is why, on April 4th, members of the Shook & Stone team will be volunteering at Three Square, dedicating their time and effort to ensure that families in our community receive the sustenance that they need. In doing so, they hope to inspire other businesses and individuals to take similar actions and make a tangible difference here in Nevada.
How you can get involved?
Ending hunger is a community-wide effort and does not take much to make a powerful difference. There are several ways to support Three Square and help ensure that no one in Southern Nevada goes hungry:
Volunteer time: Join the Three Square volunteer program and assist with food sorting, packaging, or distributing meals to those in need. Giving just a few hours of your time can make a significant impact.
Donate funds: Monetary donations allow Three Square to purchase and distribute food efficiently. Every dollar helps with the meals for individuals in need.
Host the food drive: Organizing a food collection event at your workplace, school, or Community Center is a great way to rally support and contribute to the cause.

Supporting Our Community: Volunteer Day with Three Square and NJA
On the day of April 4th, 2025, Team Shook & Stone proudly participated in another incredible volunteer day with Three Square, this time in partnership with the Nevada Justice Association (NJA). NJA is a respected organization of trial lawyers in Nevada. They are a nonprofit educational organization that strives to provide up-to-date knowledge and information by continuing legal education programs. They dedicate themselves to educating the public regarding their individual rights and responsibilities as citizens of Nevada. We are honored to work alongside them in the community.
Our team was split into two to maximize our impact during volunteer day. While one group packed nutritious food items for students to take home and eat outside of school hours. The other group assembled healthy snack bags to help children stay fed over the weekend. Included in these packs were cereal, Vienna sausages, chocolate milk, pouch applesauce, and fresh vegetables. Many children here in Nevada rely on school lunches to stay fed. That is why these meals play a crucial role in ensuring the children in our community have access to healthy meals even when they are not in school.
During the summer, thousands of meals are served to kids through the Meet Up and Eat Up Program to help ensure their hunger doesn’t begin when the school year ends. Meet Up and Eat Up provides nutritious meals to children 18 years of age and younger in low-income areas during the summer. It is an essential program that helps maintain children’s health and well-being while school is out.
Three Square continues to be an invaluable resource for Southern Nevada. The organization works tirelessly to bridge hunger gaps, ensuring that kids have access to the food they need every day of the week. Students in need of any kind of food assistance can apply to the Three Square website. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve alongside NJA and proud to support Three Square’s mission. Together with teamwork, we are building stronger communities. Through partnerships, we can make a real change.
