What is the Disability Determination Service?

When you file your initial application, the system is going to review your past medical history. The way they do that is to use something called the Disability Determination Service – it is something that exists in every state. They are going to review all of your medical records. They are going to look at your medical treatment. They are going to look at what doctors have said about you. They are going to make a decision about whether or not pursuant to the rules and regulations applicable, you are disabled. Whether or not you can work anymore. By the way, when they measure your disability, they are using something called Social Security listings. These are listings that address every system of the body and every medical condition or problem you can have. We are particularly good at taking your medical history, and knowing how to make them apply to those listings.
