What happens if my claim is denied?

If you get denied, you have to appeal your claim. The system has stages. You file your initial claim – if you get denied, you will ask for reconsideration and that is an appeal. If you ask for reconsideration and are denied, you will appeal it again and ask for a hearing. And if you lose at the hearing, you can appeal it again to what they call the appeals counsel, and then one final time to the federal district court. Frankly, if you have been denied once, you really need legal counsel. You should call an attorney that really works in this area like we do.
