How long does it take to apply for coverage?

Unfortunately, it takes a long time to get a disability insurance claim approved. Obviously, if you get approved after an initial application, that’s great. But the reality is, most claims are denied multiple times before they are accepted, if they are ever accepted. In our office, what we observe is claims can take as long as a year and a half to two years, and that is very frustrating for people. Obviously, many people that can’t work have no other way to keep food on the table, or make a mortgage payment. But the reality is, this is a federal system and a lot of people are applying – it takes a long time.
