Attorney

Emily K. Cunningham, originally from the Pacific Northwest, proudly calls Las Vegas her home. After her father relocated to Las Vegas when she was twelve, she spent her summers in Las Vegas. She moved full time to Vegas during high school, graduating from Arbor View High School. Emily earned her degree in political science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), graduating cum laude with department honors in 2014. She continued her education at the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law, graduating in 2017.

During her time in law school, Emily developed a strong desire to practice in areas that positively impact people’s lives, but she could not pinpoint what area of law would be the best fit for her. Following law school, Emily gained valuable experience working as a law clerk for civil judges at the Las Vegas Justice Court, where she witnessed the practical application of civil procedure—often involving debt collection cases—and the critical role attorneys played in the outcome of the cases. Her exposure to the many different forms of debt collection cases motivated her to advocate for those who needed help the most.

Inspired by a letter she penned to her future self during her final semester of law school, Emily pursued a career in personal injury law, driven by her passion for helping others. Since practicing personal injury, she has guided clients through every step of the legal process, from initial consultations to trial completion.

Emily’s journey into litigation was serendipitous; while assisting a colleague with jury instructions during a trial, she caught the attention of a partner at her prior firm, which led to her involvement in several significant trials. These resulted in noteworthy verdicts, including $7 million against a driver who hit a pedestrian, a $101 million verdict against the pedestrian’s insurance company for mishandling the claim, a $13.2 million verdict for a traumatic brain injury case, and a groundbreaking $550 million award—which included $500 million in punitive damages—for a DUI-related fatality.

Emily’s proudest moment in her litigation career thus far came when the daughter of the deceased victim in the DUI-related fatality trusted her enough to open up emotionally just days before trial. This emotional connection allowed the daughter to support her reserved mother in expressing her feelings. The candid testimony from both women resonated powerfully with the jury, a testament to the bond Emily forged with the family

Known for her personable and quirky demeanor, Emily believes that empathy and authenticity are key to connecting with clients and jurors alike. Outside of her legal work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their six rescue dogs, focusing on providing loving homes for those who are not easily adoptable.
