Brett Johnson

Brett Johnson works in Shook and Stone’s litigation department. Mr. Johnson has almost ten years of experience and encompasses all aspects of litigation, including pre-trial investigation through the filing of the complaint, written and oral discovery, motion practice, trial, and appeal. Before working at Shook and Stone, Mr. Johnson worked at the largest intellectual property law firm in the Rocky Mountain region and before that Mr. Johnson clerked for the Idaho Supreme Court, Chief Justice Linda Copple Trout.

Mr. Johnson graduated summa cum laude from the University of Idaho College of Law in 2001 with the second highest GPA in his class. During law school at the University of Idaho, Mr. Johnson was the Editor-in-Chief of the Idaho Law Review. Mr. Johnson is a published author. His law review publication was selected by the Idaho law Review Executive Board as the best student article of the year. Mr. Johnson was also active in student government and was elected by the student body to the law school’s student government. After graduating from the University of Idaho, Mr. Johnson attended New York University (NYU), a top 5 ranked law school by the U.S. News & World Report rankings, where he graduated with an LL.M. (advanced law degree) in trade regulation. While at NYU Mr. Johnson was a Editor of the New York University Law & Business Journal.

Mr. Johnson played college and semi-pro football. He also participated in PRCA rodeos in the bareback bronc riding event and he is active in martial arts.
