  • 177 semi-trucks were involved in traffic accidents in Nevada in 2010. 135 of these vehicles were involved in property damage accidents and 42 were involved in accidents that caused injury. No semis were involved in fatal truck accidents.
  • Various other large trucks were involved in traffic accidents in Nevada in 2010, including 267 vehicles that were tractors only, without trailers, 119 tractor doubles, 32 tanker trucks, 16 tractor triples and 224 large trucks of unknown configurations.

According to statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA):

  • In 2010, large trucks accounted for 4% of all registered vehicles and 10% of all vehicle miles traveled. In 2011, large trucks accounted for 8% of all vehicles involved in fatal accidents and 3% of vehicles involved in injury and property damage accidents.
