Jogging Strollers Recalled for Choking Hazard

Posted By Las Vegas Injury Lawyer || 26-Oct-2011

Hundreds of thousands of strollers have been recently recalled because of a choking hazard. According to The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), B.O.B. Trailers Inc. has recalled 411,700 jogging strollers in the United States. The report states that the canopies on the strollers have an embroidered logo that can detach and become a choking hazard for young children. This recall involves strollers made between November 1998 and November 2010.

The recalled models include the single-seat and double-seat models with the brand name B.O.B., Ironman, or Stroller Strides. They were sold at many child and sporting goods stores including REI, Babies R Us, and Amazon.com. Owners of this defective product have been advised to contact B.O.B. Trailers for instructions on how to remove the patch.

The company involved in this recall has already received six reports of children putting the patch in their mouths, with two instances involving gagging. Anyone who suffers an injury because of a defective product would be well advised to preserve the product for examination by an expert, seek immediate medical attention, and contact an experienced products liability lawyer. Manufacturers of defective products may be held liable for injuries and damages their products cause.

A product liability claim is a civil lawsuit that holds a negligent product manufacturer accountable for injuries suffered. It is the responsibility of product manufacturers to make sure that the items they sell are properly tested. Putting dangerous and defective products on the market that can hurt children is unacceptable.
